On Memorial Day, County Executive Laura Curran Honors Those Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice, Pledges to Keep Supporting Nassau’s Veterans

BALDWIN, NEW YORK - This weekend, County Executive Laura Curran attended Memorial Day parades and services across Nassau to pay tribute to fallen military personnel. She honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice, while pledging to support the veterans who have returned home to Nassau County.

In recognition of Memorial Day, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran released the following statement:

“Today, we remember and honor those who gave their lives to protect our precious freedoms. As we begin to once again gather with friends and loved ones after a long year of isolation, these freedoms take on renewed meaning. We honor those who have fallen in the line of duty, and we fight for those still with us. Long Island is home to the largest population of veterans in New York state. As County Executive, I am committed to supporting our Gold Star Families and Nassau veterans, making sure they have access to the benefits and high-quality care they deserve. Today and every day, we honor the military members who made the ultimate sacrifice, and take care of those who are still with us.”
