Nassau County Executive Laura Curran Receives RWDSU/UFCW Endorsement

After fighting for workers during the pandemic, RWDSU/UFCW, which represents 1.3 million frontline workers, endorsed Laura Curran in her re-election campaign

BALDWIN, NEW YORK - Today, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran met with leaders representing the Retail Workers and Department Store Union/United Food and Commercial Workers Union at a local Nassau grocery store to receive the endorsement for Curran’s re-election campaign.

Throughout the pandemic, County Executive Laura Curran provided vital aid to Nassau’s department and grocery store workers. While these workers kept Nassau’s economy running, County Executive Laura Curran kept them safe, providing access to PPE and rapid testing in the earliest days of the pandemic. When vaccines became available, Curran’s administration made sure frontline workers were one of the first to receive them.

Nassau County Executive Laura Curran has always stood with the workers of RWDSU/UFCW and workers across Nassau County. As County Executive, Laura Curran has fought to protect and expand government programs and projects that support jobs for working families from day one, and she will continue to do so in her second term.

In endorsing Laura Curran’s re-election campaign, RWDSU/UFCW Local 338 President John Durso released the following statement:

“Long before the pandemic, Laura exemplified what real leadership looks like. Through hard work and dedication, she has made the lives of Nassau’s working families better. When the pandemic hit, she stuck by our workers, getting them the resources they needed to stay safe. We are proud to give our endorsement to labor’s friend and our County Executive, Laura Curran.”
