Endorsement: County Executive Candidate Laura Curran Endorsed by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 25 at Labor Breakfast in Her Honor

(HAUPPAUGE, NY) - Today, at a Labor Breakfast in Curran's honor, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 25 endorsed Democratic Candidate Laura Curran to be Nassau’s next County Executive.

“We are thrilled to endorse Laura Curran to be our next County Executive because she will fight every day for the hard-working men and women of Nassau County, just as she always has,” said Kevin Casey, Business Manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 25. “Laura has proven herself to be a champion for organized labor, even when it meant taking tough votes to protect working families. Laura is the candidate with the leadership and vision to fix the mess in Nassau County and make the government work for the taxpayers once again. We are excited to join her on the campaign trail and help her win in November.”

After receiving the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 25, Laura Curran released the following statement:

“I am overjoyed to receive the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 25, which represents and stands up for hard-working men and women across Nassau County. Our current Nassau County government has left our taxpayers behind, and I am committed to changing that. Kevin and his colleagues play a vital role in our communities, and I will fight every day to protect their wages, benefits, and workplace protections. I look forward to working with them on the campaign trail and then as County Executive. Together, we can fix the mess in Nassau County and better serve the middle-class families that are the backbone of our economy.”

Laura Curran was also endorsed by the Working Families Party and Eleanor’s Legacy this week. In addition, she has been endorsed by four other labor unions, and is the only candidate supported by organized labor. Curran was also endorsed by State Senators Todd Kaminsky and John Brooks, the Nassau County Democratic Committee’s Executive Committee, and County Democratic Chairman Jay Jacobs.
